I want to share a mentoring webinar I did for the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters entitled, “The Importance of Understanding the Financials of Your Business.” This is a subject which, for many of us, is a little scary; it certainly was for me. I started a dog walking and pet sitting business, not with an MBA and a business plan, but rather with a passion for animals and a desire to be in control of my work life. However, as the business grew I started to see the possibility of building something that would provide for me and my family, a business that would pay a mortgage and put kids through college. I also started to see that in order to take advantage of this opportunity I would need to learn more about running a business with sound business principals.
